I love these faces!!!!

At the beginning of this month our homeschool group got together for our end of the year potluck.  It was a wonderful day.  The weather was beautiful and so was the company.  I have been putting off this blog, partly because we have been so busy.  But mostly because I know this was one of the last times we will all be together like this.  One of my dearest friends is moving and I think I just haven't wanted to blog this day because that will make it seem more real somehow.  I love this lady like a sister and I adore her kids.  She truly is a bright light in our world and we will miss her and her family greatly.

This kids had a wonderful time.  Jacob brought his fishing pole and Ms. Rachel and Ms. Brandi took them into the creek to look for crawdads.  They caught a few along with some baby fish.  Anthony and Shayne brought guitars and there was an impromptu game of football.  The moms got to spend a little time talking and I even got rid of some of my old curriculum.  Even though a few of our group were not able to make it the day felt right somehow.   We all lingered a little longer than we intended not wanting the day to end.

I got the idea for this blog not long before we left and a few of our friends had already gone home.  So please don't think that you aren't loved because your kids faces are not in this blog....I will be doing it again soon I am sure.  And next time I have to add the momma faces as well :)

I didn't get a good picture of Anthony or Jacob.  But I got a few regular pictures from our day....

Airplanes in Dayton

At bedtime last night I decided to leave on our trip a day early.  I have been wanting to get the boys to the air force museum.  So we got up this morning and got busy getting things done so we couldn't leave.  I even cut Michael and Anthony's hair.  First we went to the Huffman Prairie Flying Field so Jake and Michael could get Junior ranger badges.   The badges are very cool....flight wings!

We then headed over to the National Air Force Museum.  By the time we got there we only had 45 minutes to look around.  We headed straight back towards the cold war exhibit.  The boys were very excited to see a stealth bomber.   They thought the place was awesome.  They decided that we have to come back when we can look around more.

Pictures will have to be added later......I forgot to bring my laptop.

Tomorrow we head to Toledo to see Alyssa and Mike.

Volunteering and siblings......

Yesterday Jacob and I volunteered at the Humane Society.  We went with Melissa to the Animal Shelter to take pictures of dogs to see if other shelters will take them.  The program is called, The Rescue Wagon.  Other shelters in the north don't have as many unwanted dogs so they will take dogs from other shelters.  I believe that the shelter dogs here go to Michigan and Wisconsin.

Today Michael and Anthony volunteered at the library most of the day.  Michael shelved books they both helped with the Friday program and then they helped work on a Hobbit party that they are having next week :)

I had a doctors appointment in Lexington so I asked Jacobs sister Amy if she wanted to meet us at Gatti Town.  Jacob was so excited he didn't sleep much last night.  And so he was tired today.  He enjoyed spending time with Amy though.  So did I, she is a very sweet girl and she has a good head on her shoulders.

Next week we are going to Toledo to see Michael and Anthony's sister Alyssa and brother Mike.  Our summer will be filled with visiting family and friends!!

Puppy Love :)
