The cool bug.
We got up this morning and got in a very good school day. Then we headed to the park for an afternoon of fun with friends. And what a day it was!!! The weather was perfect and we had lots of friends to share it with. The kids found a stream, or what was left of it which was basically mud. They had fun stomping around in it. Then they found a couple of goose/duck eggs just laying in the grass. Jacob and Embree are big "animal" kids, they couldn't rest until they found a place for the one egg that was still warm. The two of them along with Michael distracted a duck and put the egg in her nest and she went back and sat on it. They were very excited and happy that the little goose/duck had a chance to survive. Jacob took his bug vacuum and habitat. They caught spiders, aunts and moths. There was also a really cool looking bug that they caught. It was about 2 inches long with spots on its back that look like eyes. It also does a weird pop like thing when on its back to turn back over. It was a very good day!!!!

Hi Juanita,
Just stopped by to take a peek at your blog. It is great! You have done a great job of posting and keeping it up.
Just an FYI, if you haven't identified it yet, that cool bug the kids found is a click beetle or Eyed Elater.
See you guys at practice!
Amanda J.
Thanks!!! We have been so busy we haven't had a chance to look it up.
