I haven't posted in a while, we were finishing up school and trying to get my house clean for company. Man was our house dirty!!! I hadn't done any indepth cleaning/tossing in a long time. And I didn't get the whole house done before my aunt and uncle, and my cousin and her family arrived.

They got in on June 13th. They were pretty tired from driving all night. So we just relaxed and grilled out. The next day we took them to Fort Harrod. They were having an Indian raid and lots of extra things going on this weekend. There we lots of people in period costume. We talked to a lady about making lye soap and she mailed us the instructions! I see a project in our future! The kids climbed on the big Osage tree and I snapped lots of pictures :) My cousin Gina has 3 kids too, so we had 6 kids and 6 adults in my house. These times are the only times I am glad our house is big. We didn't feel cramped at all!

On Monday the 15th we took everyone hiking at Natural Bridge. We were suppose to go to the Gorge but the hike up was way longer and harder than we thought and no one had the energy to hike more after that. It was very humid so that made the climb even harder. But everyone enjoyed themselves and loved the bridge. We even climbed up and walked on top of it. We were all a little nervous about Kendall hiking (she is only 3) but she did excellent and stayed with an adult when the trail was dangerous. Then Ed carried her most of the way back down :) She is so cute...she will ask you a question then say "say yes." Tristan who is 12 told Gina that it was the most exciting and scary day of his life :)
On Wednesday we all went to Salato Wildlife Center. They had just put down fresh tar on the trails and Ed left his footprint in it in front of the buffalo exhibit. The kids feed the ducks and a lady fishing let the boys look into the mouths of the fish she had caught.
We spent Thursday relaxing and packing up because we all drove over to West Virginia for a family reunion.
The kids got to swim at the hotel so they were happy. We got to see lots of family that we hadn't seen for a while. Jacob came up to me while the reunion was going on and said, "I love my family."

Then we left WV on Sunday morning. We headed back to Kentucky and the others headed back to Florida. It was so nice to have them here, I miss them a lot.

Salato today.....

This deer looks huge in this picture but it was tiny!

We made plans to meet a new friend at Salato today. But I managed to forget that the Animal section was closed. We had a good time anyway, we decided to take a hike on one of the trail around the animals. We found out that today was our new friend Andrews birthday! He turned 5 today. We saw the cutest baby deer laying in the grass. We named it Andrew in honor of Andrews birthday.

Miss. Regina showed us Milkweed. I had no idea what it was, but we are on the lookout for a monarch caterpillar. If we find one we will definately need to know what Milkweed looks like. We saw lots of interesting butterflies and snails in shells.

We ended the hike by taking a trip to Dairy Queen. We hadn't brought any water because we thought we would be able to use the water fountian in the learning center.
