impromptu trip

Took a last minute trip to West Virginia. Saw lots of family. We went to see a non working hospital. It was called 'Trans-Alleghney Lunatic Asylum. It was constructed between 1858 and 1881. It is the largest hand cut blue sand stone stucture in North America.

It was a very cool place to visit. It is still in quite a bit of disrepair but still worth the trip.

Actually, I can't take credit for this one. My aunt, who is a nurse and loves all things antique and medical, found it. I am very glad we went with her. It was so interesting and the building was beautiful!
