Friendship Garden

One of our co-ops got a grant to make a garden. They have been working on it for a few months. Today was the first time we have been able to help work on it. Michael and Anthony helped plant trees. Jacob pulled some weeds and they all helped put color in the mural on the back wall. I moved a mountain of mulch and now I am tired and sore. But it was fun being there working with friends.

Snake playground.....

Okay, so yesterday I decide to clean snake cages. Its been a while and they are starting to smell! The boys contribute to this activity by holding the snakes while "I" clean.

They came up with the snake playground all on their own. We a good idea in theory. But in reality..........Did you know that snakes can get stuck in paper towel tubes!!! Well now you do ;) Muffasa the big guy tried to turn around inside and then couldn't move. The paper towel tube had to be sacrificed.

Rose the Corn Snake..........

And on the mat in this corner........ROCKYYY SANDBOAAAAA

A beautiful evening for a walk....

Michael and Jacob went with me to walk Diesel at Elkorn Creek yesterday. And we just had to make a stop at the playground of Western Elementary. The sun started going down and the sky was bright with color. They look at nice and friendly with each other in the picture but they were bickering the whole way on the trail. I told them that walking the dog is my peaceful time and I may not ever take them with me again!!!

They look sweet in this picture too.........BAH!!!!!

I love this view and take many pictures of it even though I try to stop myself because I have so many.

Had to shoot between trees and weeds to get this picture.

When I was young I use to think Kentucky was so bland and boring. I didn't know anything back then!!!

Breakfast at the park and Mexican masks and dancers....

Learning the Macarana with Mrs. Shay

Jake hitting a pinata.

Anthony in his usual pose.

A really cool mask they had on display at the museum.

We had a busy but fun day yesterday. First we meet some friends at the park for a breakfast potluck. It was really fun, we will defiantly have to do that again! While there Jeannie mentioned that there was going to be Mexican Indian dancing at the museum. David went to an auction with a friend so I took the boys to the fiesta downtown. There was a lady there that we knew teaching kids the Macarana...(no Idea if I spelled that right!). They had pinatas and a group of dancers in very brightly colored costumes. I loved the stomping they were doing. They danced for a long time, those guys were tired and hot! There was a clown following around behind the dancers with a whip in his hand. Michael asked him what it was for and he said it was to hit the dancers with when they slowed down. We also ran into Jeannie and family which was nice because they are leaving tomorrow for the whole summer. They go to the mountains of North Carolina and relax and just be with each other. Sound nice be we will sure miss them.

I can't seem to get the link to the map to work :( I will keep trying

End of year celebration.

We had an end of year celebration with our KEEN friends at CiCis. We had quite a few kids with big milestones this year. There were 6 kids leaving Elementary School and heading for middle school. And Anthony graduated from Middle School and is heading to high school.

Excalibur!!!!!!

We had our last performance of Excalibur on Sunday. The boys really enjoy being involved with Georgetown Community Theatre. The costumes for this play were great. I really enjoyed taking the cast photos.

Jacob gave me fits with his costume. I made all this cool stuff for him and he didn't want to wear it!! He ended up pulling his head piece down over his head and wearing it like that. Michael just wore his anyway even though it hurt a little.

Anthony was behind the scenes this time. He really seems to enjoy working backstage. And as a perk, he got paid for working this time!
