We are in Philly!!!!

Standing where George Washingon once stood!!

George Washington's headquarters.

Parlor, where Gen. Washington worked and wrote letters.

We woke up this morning and headed to Cabela's. It is a really huge sportsman type store. They sell clothes to, David gets most of his shirts mail ordered from them. They have wonderful fudge!! They also have tons of "stuffed" animals. Jacob didn't like the idea that they had to kill the animal to do that.

After Cabela's we got in the car and headed for Valley Forge. We got a little bit of a late start but when we got there we found out they are open an hour longer during the summer so we got to see everything we wanted. The coolest thing was George Washington's headquarters. The house he rented while the troops were camped there is still in very good condition. It is very small and we were told there were 12 people living there during that period. They convereted attic space into sleeping quarters for his aids. The only down side during our visit was the ranger at headquarters. He was not very friendly nor did he seem to want to answer questions. I think it was so close to closing time and he just wanted to leave. That is the first ranger I have ever met like that!

Our hotel room is huge!!! The kids are all excited. It has stormed this evening so they couldn't get into the pool :(
