We had a field trip to a pre-Civil War house here in Georgetown. Our town has some very beautiful old houses this one was on the verge of being torn down. But a group came in and bought it, and are in the process of restoring it to the way it was when first built. It cost a whopping 50,000 dollars to build in 1855. Quite a fortune for that time.
