Toledo day 3.....Fort Meigs

This was our visit to Fort Meigs. It was built during the war of 1812. It was the turning point during this war. Most of the other forts in the area were taken by the English......not this one it withstood and from this stronghold they even took back some of the lost forts.

We had a great tour guide. He was even dressed in period gear.

This house was built during the great depression to help give jobs to people. They left it when they rebuilt the fort because it didn't interfere with construction.

I can't remember what this thing is called. It was a used as a punishment devise. They would make you sit on it with your hands tied behind your back. If you were really bad they tied 10 pound weights to each foot!
