Redwood National Forest and Crescent City

We left Redding and drove what should have been 3 hours to the Redwoods.  There was lots of construction and there was lots of smoke from a nearby forest fire.  We stopped in a little town for lunch.  The Lighthouse Café...home of the mashed potato cone.  Michael and I had to try it since we both are huge potato fans.  The cone was mad just like a waffle cone only it was cornbread!  We hiked Lady Bird Grove in the park.  The trees were beautiful but I think Muir woods was better.  Jacob and Michael got the badges from there as well, they have quite a collection of them now.

We are spending the night in Crescent City.  Our hotel is right on the beach.  I love the rocky beaches.  The boys climbed lots of them.  Climbing rocks is one of their favorite things to do on vacation ;)  David and I went out to watch the sunset while the boys swam.  It was very cloudy but still pretty.
