February 28th.....Jacob's birthday.

We woke up in Arizona and got on the road headed for Vegas. On the way we saw a sign for a Meteor Crater. So we decided to stop and check it out. It was a huge crater, 2 miles around. They did the Apollo moon landing practicing here.

We got to Vegas close to 4 pm and checked into our hotel, the Flamingo. We checked out the gardens and the flamingos at the hotel. Jacob wanted to go to the Black Bear Dinner for his birthday dinner. The food was good and the staff very nice. They gave Jacob a pie for his birhtday and they even put the candles I brought on it and sang to him. He loved all the bears, kind of reminded me of something you would find in Gatlinburg.

After dinner we drove up and down the strip looking at the lights.

I havent been able to blog because the hotel charged 14 dollars a day for internet and our sprint card wouldn't work int he hotel :(

The San Francisco Peaks. They are the remains of a stratovolcano.

Juanita, I absolutely LOVE the pictures you are taking, and the quality is fantastic! What kind of camera are you using? Also, that "pie" for Jacob's birthday looks more like a whole pie!!! Did he eat all of it?

David got me the new Cannon Rebel
T2i for Christmas. I love it!! That wasn't a full size pie about a fourth of a regular pie. He didn't eat it all.
